Preteens Need Your Help Too!

A tip I have for adults this month is reading aloud with your child and being active. This means having a habit of asking your child how their day is going and finding ways to support them. I find that many kids my age feel more confident when their parents help them out. Sometimes parents may think the better path is letting their kids just do it themselves. Many kids can be afraid to just ask for help. Some kids may prefer studying independently, but many others like having a helping hand by their side.

Parents, if you want your children to do well, try talking to them and asking if they need help. By doing this, it can help your preteen to do well in tests. Many parents can try to read with their child when they are at home. There is a reading program from Amazon called Prime Book Box, and they deliver award-winning children’s books every few months from the early years to 12 years old. I understand middle schoolers don’t always want to read with their parents, but you can still set time aside to for them to do independent reading and use audiobooks. Reading with your child or discussing what they are reading in class is a good way of knowing how our child is doing and seeing if there is anything that might concern you. By doing this, it can help you know where they are at with their education and also even help you become closer with them. Remember, pre-teens need your help too!
